My 28000km voyage around Africa in Vaquita II, scheduled to depart in December 2024.
As part of my preparation, I have made the decision to cover an equivalent distance on land by embarking on a bicycle journey. My daily routine consists of cycling 50 kilometers, with longer distances on weekends.
In addition to this personal endeavor, I will be undertaking various long-distance journeys to raise awareness for the Sea-Battical solo around Africa project and advocate for my cause to alleviate malnutrition in five million children worldwide through the Mannatech M5M Foundation. Furthermore, I aim to educate people about endangered ocean species, particularly the Vaquita porpoise, which teeters on the brink of extinction.
As you may be aware, the port of departure for my voyage with Vaquita will be Mossel Bay, South Africa, with the first port of call being Hermanus, widely recognized as the whale capital of South Africa. The distance covered at sea will be approximately 400 kilometers. Subsequently, my first cycling campaign will take me from Mossel Bay to Hermanus, passing through Riversdal, Swellendam, Caledon, and concluding in Hermanus, encompassing a total road distance of about 380 kilometers. Weather permitting, I aim to complete this journey within a span of 3-4 days.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Klein Karoo Toyota for their generous provision of a backup vehicle in support of my mission and campaign. Words cannot adequately convey the depth of our appreciation for your invaluable contribution. Your support holds significant importance in our mission to combat childhood malnutrition and bring hope to countless young lives. By sponsoring a vehicle, you not only facilitate the logistics of our ambitious cycling campaign but also serve as a symbol of your commitment to making a positive difference in the world.
I will be announcing the exact date and time of my venture, as well as the launch of the first leg of the cycling trip, on this platform, Instagram and Facebook. Your continued readership and support are greatly appreciated.
Thank you for taking the time to read about my journey and unwavering support.
